Artwork Statement: Rone grew up in rural Victoria near Geelong before relocating to Melbourne in 2001. Beginning in 2002, he decorated skateboards and skate parks before transitioning to paste-ups and stencils across Melbourne's streets. This artwork represents one of the first recorded Rone works on canvas, marking a significant moment in his artistic evolution. His signature "Jane Doe" portraits initially employed wheat-paste techniques for quick installations in busy locations. Later street works utilized traditional painting materials including rollers and brushes. Rone has painted internationally in cities spanning New York, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, and beyond.
