Sargis Hovhannisyan is a contemporary Armenian artist specializing in hyperrealism. Born in Yerevan in 1980, he has pursued artistic practice since childhood, exploring various drawing techniques before focusing on hyperrealist methods. Since September 2018, he has served as a lecturer in the Drawing Department at the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia. His work continues Armenia's rich artistic heritage, a tradition stretching from ancient manuscript illumination and medieval khachkar stone carving to the nation's vibrant modern art movement that flourished throughout the twentieth century.
