A burst of summer caught mid bloom. Tamara Lalayan builds this bouquet with thick, confident strokes of oil, letting the paint itself do the work of petals and leaves. The yellows spill upward like sunlight breaking through a window. Deeper plums and greens anchor the centre.

Look closely and you see how the flowers are suggested rather than drawn. A dab of crimson becomes a rose. A slash of violet reads as hydrangea. White impasto catches the light where the tallest blooms reach into pale air. The vase is barely there, a soft ghost of grey and green traced beneath the arrangement, as if the flowers matter more than what holds them.

Lalayan works in the tradition of painterly still life, where mood carries as much weight as subject. Her handling is loose and generous. Paint is pushed, dragged, and left to sit proud of the canvas. That texture gives the work its life. You can almost feel the heat of the season in the buttery yellows and the shaded corners of moss and wine.

There is something a little wild here. The background refuses to settle into neat space. Yellow washes bleed into the negative field on both sides, so the bouquet feels less like an object on a table and more like a memory of a garden in full swing. It is a generous, unfussy painting. A work made for a room that wants warmth and movement on the wall.
